Abuse and the Church

THE TIME IS NOW

Historically churches in America often ignore domestic abuse, or believe it can’t be inside our church.

Now is the time to realize abusers use the church as cover, leveraging errant Biblical interpretations.

Historically churches “listen to both sides” & encourage couples’ counseling, sending them back to greater abuse.

Now is the time to recognize the aftermath of abuse and move the abused to safety.

Historically churches advise a wife to be more loving so that her Godly behavior might cause the abuser to change.

Now is the time to call out the sin and call the sinner to humility & repentance.

Historically there is little hope for abusers to change – only ~3% of abusers fully stop abusive behaviors.

Now is the time to recognize that God can change the hearts of all who are willing!
